code4pa was Pennsylvania's first government-backed Hackathon.

Team
This project was a collaboration between the Commonwealth of PA, Harrisburg University, and PA Interactive.
Challenge
The Commonwealth needed a "save the date"-style splash page, and then an extended . The timeframe for this was very rapid less than 1 week for design approvals, and a day for development.

Solution
While the network admins set up the URLs and database for the site, I initially spent time researching other hackathon websites, to gain an idea of what users would be looking for. I quickly designed a central style motif, and submitted mockups, with about 13 variations for approval. One approved, I used Strapless and Wordpress to quickly build a beta site.
